So lights was one of the last things on the list. Well here we go, 2x Nicrew HyperReef 200 Gen 2 and a controller. I'll post par numbers and program when I get it dialed in. I'll be sharing what I learn along the way.

How long does the light mount reach out to? Also what size tank are you putting it on?

Looking forward to your par measurements. 🙂

The adjustable horizontal bar is 10.5 in. The way it is designed the vertical bar has the 90 degree on it, so it gives a little more. I don't like attaching stuff directly to the tank, so I plan on changing it to their multi light hanging kit.

I have them on a 130 gallon.

Yep, just south of Utica.

And no disco ball affect that I noticed. The lenses seem to diffuse very nicely. They do also make a narrow angle lens kit if you need to focus it more.

My tank dimensions are pretty close...54x26x22

I have been using Nicrews for about six months now. They still run like the day I got them, they look good, and corals are growing. The software/UI is good enough. For less than half the price...sometimes a third on sale or if you find a good deal on AliExpress. All the testing done by the market hints that you will be more than pleased with your par testing down to the sand bed and spectrum is fine.

Only reason not to use these is a philosophical/moral stance against offshoring / shady patent business and/or the acceptance of paying twice or more the price for maybe 10% of incremental value (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I guess I am more anti capitalism greed, of these companies putting a "luxury" tax on the hobby. I have built led test pucks in the past, and know the markup is astronomical. More then likely, most of the lights are made overseas any way.

The bar is from another company. My tank is retrofitted and no other light fixtures fit. You can see the slight bend in the middle. I didn’t want to hang from the ceiling.
