Wondering what people that dont do water changes add to the tank like trace elements/amino acids. What brands? I havent done a water change in about 2 months everything looks great but need more advice on long term success. I dose
Esv 2 part.

9 months and counting. I also use B-Ionic 2 part. Only other thing I dose is ESV TE+ to control nutrients (also an excellent product).

Has the te+ ever given you unwanted algae?

Awesome thanks! Does this affect ca alk or mg in any way? I know it says it doesnt but just wondering...
Nope, not at all, it’s good stuff, I’m surprised that more people don’t use it.

I will try it just noticed its out of stock though
Yeah :( A few KZ products have been out of stock since the corona virus. They are all made in Germany in a laboratory environment, so with shipping and travel bans I can see how they are having issues restocking. Hopefully this all blows over soon ;Nailbiting

I don't do regular water changes, but it happens when I need water for a quarentine tank for example. My tank is 1 year old and I did 1 big water change (40%) because my anemones weren't looking very happy for a few weeks.

Regarding trace elements, here's what I do:

EVS 2 part has trace elements in it. Not sure if its enough to not dose any while not doing water changes. I went 3 months no water change and just dosed kalk, ICP test came back all good just low iodine and high bromine, all other trace elements where within normal ranges.

I am going on about 2 years since my last water change.

Dosed via Apex DOS: Red Sea Ca, dKH, NoPox (50% dilution with RO)
Dosed via Hand: Red Sea Trace Colors, Mg as needed per testing

I dose ATI essentials... prior to my new build i went 1.5 years without water changes. On the new system, still using ati essentials but i plan to do small water changes every few months. I do believe there are additional elements in sea water that are present that we may not currently test for on ICP.

Triton Core 7 - alk, mag, trace and macro elements
Triton Macro/Trace Suppliments - Dose based on ICP testing
Brightwell Cheatogrow - Additional Macro Algae supplement

Tropic marin all for reef over a year minimal success with coral however. Fish look great though.

What I have done on past tanks, clients aquariums and plan to continue doing

Calcium reactor + kalk reactor
Sporadically dose:
KZ amino acids
KZ phols coral vitalizer
TLFs Combisan
A drop or two (depending on sys volume) of kent lugols solution every two weeks or so.
