So I have a happy ball of chaeto in my fuge...and also some brown, hairlike algae that is growing on the side of the fuge where there is the most direct light from the grow lamp.

Question is whether I should try and manage this nuisance in the fuge -- or leave it since it is not growing in the Dt?

I am concerned with its happy growth finding its way back up into the DT...

Thanks!

Just to be safe I would pull the hair algae out you don't want it to out compete the chaeto for nutrients

I'm kinda in the same boat. I think my light for my fuge is too strong? Or maybe too blue? I'm getting a lot of response from the algae on the wall. I think I may leave it and maybe do a routine fuge clean every once in a while because it gets nasty. Nothing in the Dt yet

It's already in the display. Just like cyano.
Think about it.

It's just found a happy spot to grow a large colony.
