Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I'm considering replacing some of my lighting on my 125 gallon tank. I have the Current-USA Orbit Marince IC-Pro Dual 72" strips. I also have 1 Noo-psyche K7 Pro V3 which I won during the R2R Partner recruitment project last year. To achieve adequate PAR, I have to run both white and blue channels at full strength on the Current. I'm running the Noo-Psyche blue only over the middle third of the tank. The white light overpowers the blue in this setup which washes out the color on many of the corals. I think I will replace the Current strips with something else. Would either of these two options provide enough par if I run the white channel at 50% or less and the clue channel at 100%?

Remove:
Current total watts 144
Replace with:
Noo-pysche K7 145 watts each x 3
Nicrew Hyper Reef 150 watts each x 3

Thanks

I'm running 6 of the k7 over a 6ft 180 and corals have never looked better. I also have two clams that are thriving. These lights put out a lot of par. I could probably get buy with 4 but mine are mounted inside a canopy and only 8 inches off the water so I'm not getting the spread that I would be able to get if they were mounted higher. I have no experience with nicrew but since you already have 1 k7 I would probable add to that. This is an older pic before the clams were added 20230307_110723.jpg

Thanks for the info.

What settings are you using for the Noo-psyche? With my current setup I have to use 100% everything to get the PAR I need. I'm hoping to be able to weight more towards blue and less towards white to improve the florescence of the corals.

My settings. I'm really happy with the colors. I recently reduced the white red and green to improve color and raised the others a little to keep the par levels at where they were

I have two noops over a 65 gallon 4’ tank and I love them! With two I’m getting 300+ at the top of my rocks and 200 toward the sand. Tank is 16” deep and lights are about 10” off the water. Getting around 120 par at the edges of the tank. Here are my settings.

I run 16 nicrews over my tanks. They are great lights foe the money. They will provide all of the PAR you will ever need, and then some. They are controllable as well. I have them controlled by both the kessil controller (bought it before the nicrew controller was released) on my display tank, and the nicrew controller on my frag tank. The nicrew controller is better IMO, and it's cheaper as well.

You will be able to grow corals just fine with either one. It really just comes down to personal preference. I like shimmer lines in the water just fine, but to me the noopsyche is just too much. I want my tanks to be aesthetically pleasing, and to me, the nicrews hit that target much better than the noop's.

Fwiw, I haven't had any issues with any of the 16 nicrews that I have. All have worked flawlessly for over a year, some over two years.
