I recently tired of the light in my eyes when viewing the tank from my living room sofa.

Ended up sketching up a deflector and coming up with a mounting system that allows fine adjustment to keep light in, but to not let it out.

Printed it up and voila.

Yes; by design. The light spill into the room that I am mitigating exits at the very top of the front of the tank. With refraction taken into account, I'm sure there is a small amount of light that would bounce back into the tank from/off that portion of the glass .

I and the tank inhabitants are okay with this.
