Hi all,

A few weeks ago I made an acrylic cover over the sump portion of the AIO: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/nuvo-fusion-aio-sump-cover.724327/

I was pretty happy with it until I upgrade my light to the Radio XR15 G5 Pro. I had a lot of light spillage using the recommended height with the Radion mount accessory.

So I decided to make a canopy. It's just 3-wall wrap-around with an open top. I promised myself no more mods for now. . .

I'm so happy I stumbled across this = looking to do this exact same thing. I just got a new fixture and the light spill is a bit much given the tank is in my living room. Where did you source the acrylic? And how do you have it mounted on the tank?

Kudos!

I got my acrylic from Amazon, , There's probably cheaper sheets out there but I wanted it to say weather proof and UV on it. I don't know acrylic too much except there are different qualities.

I ordered the black at 1/8" but also clear at 3/8". I have access to a laser cutter so I can cut these pieces to fit.

The clear acrylic I cut into 1 1/2" wide strips, I used to create a frame that sits on top of the glass, the dimensions are the exact dimensions of the tank rim. Then I cement the black panels around it so it wraps over the edge of the tank down to the water level.

Hope that helps!

J.

Hi, can you re-send the amazon link for the sheets? (sorry I know this is old but want to do same exact thing)... you dont have a sketch of the measurements or anything do you? It just sits on top of it without an issue @ScoobyJ ?
