@Captain Quint Hello, and be careful what you wish for! I tend to be long winded and have a lot of catching up to do (slowly getting there as you may have been keeping up)!

I enjoy 'long winded' conversations. :) Look forward to all.

Welcome and nice to see a scrubber build.

One thing you can do to improve it is to use a very roughed up 7-point white needlepoint screen, and with some nylon strings attached. The material you used there is too smooth and will let go of the growth, no matter how much you rough it up.

@SantaMonica Thank you for stopping by!

I'll look into your suggestion tonight, #hobbylobby closes at 8p!

I'll let you know what I come up with.

@SantaMonica

Kept the OG plastic backing there for support, frame worked nicely, each loop has two (2) knots on the other side.
  1. Cut loops in half into strings or leave as loops? It would be interesting to cut 1/2 the screen and leave 1/2 as loops - and compare results!
  2. All 24x 1w bulbs, 20-on /4-off, only 12x? Ramp up/down as each PCB can be different channel?

Livestock & Cycles

Like a bear nestled in for hibernation all I had to do was keep testing weekly and wait until the Nitrogen Cycle finished before adding the initial fish ...until the LFS guy, that is.

Admittedly I used to criticize shows like Tanked that seemed to stock brand new tanks with everything imaginable, skipping the setup cycle woes.

"No one waits anymore..." he adds.

You see where this is going.

"Just add 1/2 this bottle and add your fish and you're good to go."

I pledge allegiance to the flag of instant gratification! I walked out of there with a bottle of his refrigerated goods, 5x blue green chromis, and 2x snails covered in algae. I wanted a yellow tang until [same] LFS guy, "Eh, yellow tangs are a**holes. They're just mean."

Chromis most recently featured here:

Some snail pics, not sure if they appreciate the 1600 Mg.

@Dmsick Thank you, they are loosely placed right now while they, "cook" according to LFS guy.

Wife thinks there are too many in the middle. Recently read literature on positive/negative space.

Might try to reduce the 'lump' by 30%. I really like the idea of a couple of individual islands!

I don't think that screen you are using will work. That is cotton fabric. Needlepoint fabric is what you should be using. It is plastic (even though it is called "fabric"), not cotton. Then you need to take something like a hole saw (with teeth and without the center drill bit) and use it to score the heck out of the screen.

@Fin Thanks for the clarification, maybe that is why I could not find #7 only #11? Thanks for the pic too, I remember seeing that!
