I know this isn't about kessil.... Are you 100% sure it was the lights? Because there are tons of people who can grow coral like mad with kessil. I had explosive growth with mine. Then all of sudden nothing, great color no growth. Turns out it was my alk. If I keep it at 9 coral grows grate. Anyway my lfs I get 99% my coral from just switched to ocean revive from AI. All his coral looks great and it's nice I don't have to light acclimate anymore when I buy coral from under them. He uses them on his 360 gallon farm tank and he gets good growth and great color. He said they arnt MH but the cost he saves in electricity he said it's worth it. Also he says here is guy that lives here who has the best looking tank in the area and he runs them. That's who convinced him to try them. Any way sorry this is so long.

Wasn't a big fan of kessils they didn't make my corals pop as much as a full spectrum fixture. Ocean revives are pretty good with color and growth, had them for a bit and got Radions LOL

I think kessils should be used more like a MH then an all in one fixture. I know the price tag, dose not match that. But to me kessil look more natural if you get the setting right. The ocean revive look like t5 to me it give the tank a sterile look I am not a huge fan of. Of course this just my opinion I think just about all the leds out there can grow coral it's more about the look you want and time you take to get your corals to respond to that said lighting. Some times you can just move corals around to what they like. But if you keep changing lights they will never be happy. Honestly for the price of the ocean revive when I start a second tank I don't think I could afford not to buy them.
