Ocean Revive T247 settings

Anyone have an Ocean Revive T247 with good settings? I want to keep softies and LPS and ik this light is perfectly capable of doing so but I am not sure what settings I should use.

Are you able to rent a par meter? I am thinking maybe a combo of blue and white no more than 50% total of each. Honestly you could probably go lower. I have my blues at 70 (might be 60 I forget) and whites at 10 and my corals 21 inches from the light are getting somewhere around 250 par.

Buying one would be insanely expensive. I would try to see what color combo looks best to you and adjust par from there. BRS has a par meter for rent and so does podyourreef. I looked it up and found several.

This is a random comment but the most recent thread on the T247 so I thought this was the best place to post. I thought it was worth passing along but not worth making a new thread.

I have a 36" (about 32" of usable length with the overflow) frag tank that I'm lighting with a single T247. This light has crazy hot spots right under the fixture, and I was curious if I could find a point to raise it enough that it spreads out more evenly. I found that the magic height was approximately 20" off the water. I had it about 14" off previously, and was able to increase the PAR in the corners of the tank by 20 (from 50 to 70 on 100% blues). after raising it up 6 more inches. Just throwing this out there for anyone else that might be interested in trying to have a single fixture cover more ground.

I'm trying to figure out if one will be enough for the 50. Its dimensions are 24x24x20. Thanks for the help!

I would say so...
The chat above is with Chanel 1 72% and Chanel 2 18%. I like blue light so use alot more of it but u can tune it. My tank is 24*15*about 24 not sure. So it should work I would just suggest looking into renting or borrowing a par meter

You'll have no problems lighting your tank with that setup. The only hangup might be that the clocks get out of sync and don't turn on/off at the same time.

I am trying to convince myself to just use one of the ocean revives and not jump on the "latest and greatest " bandwagon andpurchase a kessil. Lol. This is the 55 gallon under the 2 ocean revives currently!

Are there any FB groups down there that may chip in to get a community one? I am in Tampa FL and that's what we did. Just have to be a member for $25 annually and u r good. U can borrow it whenever u want for no fee or anything.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it. We are using x4 used T247's over our 300gal. We are seeing measurable SPS growth. Sure, it could be faster, but that doesn't justify the expense.

Thanks! I sometimes have to resist buying into the latest and greatest! Lol. Its funny, I've never been one to follow the trends or finding the need to have the latest and greatest until i started this hobby. Its definitely a testament to the power of great advertising! The constant barage of information makes me feel like I need all the new equipment to succeed even though deep down I know I don't.
