Opinions on this tang before i pull the trigger

It’s more of a reflective sheen than a color stripe.

hows this tang look to you guys

@Jay Hemdal any thoughts on it? healthy?

will the metallic sheen on it go black what is that do all black tangs get that?


This species is very prone to HLLE. In fact, I've seen some photos from the wild where the fish even show this a little bit. A slight white line is probably o.k., but this is larger and more diffuse, especially towards the front. I suspect that this fish's HLLE will progress, or at the very least, stay at this level. If the price is right, I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. It could of course have some other disease issue that isn't showing - you should still quarantine it properly.
