Now that summer weather in MN has begun and I’m now in an apartment with no A/C I’m now having to explore options for keeping my tank from overheating. Today was about 80 and pretty humid with storms brewing and the tank climbed from 78 to 81. I’m thinking about installing fans but my concern is not having a way to turn them off if the tank cools sufficiently. For instance I don’t want them running if they drop the temp to 77 and have my heaters running that entire time trying to get the temp back up to 78.

You'll need a temp controller to turn the fan on and off once it reaches your set temps. Without it your temp may dip too low if your heater can't keep up or continuously fight each other.
