Looking to redo my drain. Heres my set up. It's a 60 cube with a quiet one 5000 with 3/4 return t'd off at the top. The drain I currently have is a 2 inch (lady at lfs said it would be better to do the hole this big). I'm planning on reducing that to a 1 inch drain. The question is would it handle the flow or should I leave it as it is

Reducing the overflow is not really a good idea. Even with ninja level modifications, a 1" drain will have a hard time keeping up with that pump!
