So I made the boo boo of not ordering a couple of important pieces and I really would like my plumbing to look top notch. I am looking to connect two unions to each of my return pumps. I bought all my fittings sched 80 but just realized I forgot to buy the two slip x thread unions. My question is can I paint white unions with a matching gray krylon fusion paint or close to it and will it be safe once cured to be placed under water?

I have read the Krylon fusion paint is reef safe once it’s completely dried and cured. I have never used it but I will be very soon here on my new return plumbing end where it enters the tank. So it will be under water. Many people suggest this to be the only reef safe spray paint.
Good luck.

You should order the schedule 80 fittings and wait a couple of days. If the way it looks it important to you a couple of days shouldn't be a big deal. You may be able to find schedule 80 locally by searching for plumbing suppliers.

I bought one union and decided to try it to see how it turns out that will be the union on the pump so, realistically the color difference is so minute it might not even be visible. We shall see I will post the results on here

Here is the end result after two coats doesn’t look to bad I placed it on top the brute to show the similarities of the gray.
I will be using a slip union and just changing out half of the two unions with the threaded pieces that were painted which will screw on the pumps. I saved myself time and money you don’t hear that often in this hobby lol

Now there was a plasti dip and a rustoleom can that matched exact but didn’t want to take any chances and use something that could potentially kill the reef
