painting stand question

I'm slowly getting things together to set-up a 90 gallon bow front corner tank. i got the set up used. i want to paint the inside of the stand white and was wondering whats the best paint to use? the outside is in good condition after painting would it be ok to seal the whole stand with Minwax Helmsman spar urethane? thanks john

Oil base white paint? i just want to paint the inside of the stand not restain it.

I've always used a good quality exterior latex paint with a good primer.

I have often heard of people using killz. It's a primer. I put about 4 coats of it on the stand I made.
