Dear All, Does anyone have any information or data related to par values from a Giesemann V12? My tank is a rs 350 peninsula, 60 cm deep. I have been using standard Giesemann settings (at first at 50%) currently at 60% strength and the lighting appears to be very powerful. I added corals and its too soon to determine whether they are thriving or not. I think it unlikely that they're under lit but is there a risk that I'm going to do damage with this much light?

I've communicated with Giesemann on this and they prefer to not provide par estimates because they believe there are too many external parameters beyond their control, the babies.

Otherwise, anyone using a Giesemann V12 Aurora with corals, what ae your strength setting and, are your coral thriving?

Thanks for any feedback.

Best,

Steve D. in France

Out of curiosity, with the concentrated LEDs in the middle, do you get any shimmer like the kessils?

Not 100% as pronounced but yeah, good shimmer. However, that’s only if the diffused sections are turned of. Think of it as throwing T5’s on with kessils. They will take away a lot of the shimmer.

You rang?
Is it regarding par-numbers? I believe I have that in one of my videos on the v12s :)
Thank you very much for responding. I remember watching one of your clips related to adding an additional Giesemann lighting strip. Your aquarium is awesome. Unfortunately I can't find your clip related to par. Can you give me the name or, better yet, a link to the clip? Also, after adding an additional light strip, are your numbers still relevant for me? I'm using the standard unaltered Aurora. Thank you in any case for responding to my post. sd

Thank you very much! I loved it. But man, your par values are high high high. I'm surprised that your corals can adapt to that. I'm currently running my Giesemann at 40% and they're bright as hell! I was also surprised at the delta in your par values toward the top of the tank and the bottom. In any case, I'm considering ramping up the intensity little by little to see what happens. In any case, thank you. Your tank is awesome and your live stock is breathtaking. That you can get that population to live in peace is an achievement. Thank very much for sharing this clip with me. This was much appreciated. Best regards, Steve D.
