Hello reef gurus
Hope you are all good🙏🏻
Got a few things id like to straighten out with parameters
Aquarium is 3months old
I have a few coral in there and 90% seem to be doing fine🙏🏻
I done an icp test and i got the results back today
(Aquarium is 425xl)
Currently dosing
9.1ml alk
10ml calcium(prob gunna bring it down after these results)
5ml no pox (stopping today)
2ml mag (didnt know what the usage rate was)
All red sea

My levels are
Alk steady at 8.2
Ph 8.2 also
Calcium 440
Mag 1264
Nitrate 13.6 (was 15 but no pox bringing it down)
Phosphate is 0.00/icp says 0.07(came up abit to 0.08 after spot feed next day zero again on hanna)

Also aluminium in my aquarium on icp states 85 (i think this has came from leaving phosguard in too long.., removed it today added fresh carbon and done a water change to help reduce this and also added capripure and polyfilter…)

So my questions are

How much mag should i dose to correct this low mag?

And should i stop using no pox to allow phosphate to creep up?

Aquarium is looking fine just things like blastos seem to not be doing so well and i have 4 torches.. 2 of them are not fully sulking but are not fully extended either.. rest seem to be loving it..

Boost mag to 1350 according to whichever product instructions say.
Stop using no pox. Having 0 phosphates is less than ideal.

Gonna answer the magnesium question :)
Is icp test pretty accurate though for mag?

It says on that article testing mag is very hit and miss.. i just meant is icp the most accurate or is it again still hit and miss even with icp..
Apologies, it is probably more accurate, I posted more on the understanding there probably isn't a reason for you to dose Mag. Just do water changes.

I believe ICP tests for mag are definitely more accurate.

Home testing for mag is problematic in most cases. Hanna as an example uses something like .1ml of tank water to do the test. Most other tests use 10ml. I don't think Ive read why this is.
