Glad it helped. Conduit is cheap and easy to work with. I used a heat gun to make some bends I couldn’t find at the store lol

I figured that’s what you did for one of them.

Good idea with the weatherproof boxes too.

I just reordered my apex. Once that gets in and I get a couple free-ish days - almost impossible with 2 under 2.5- then I’m going to get cracking on mine. Hopefully sometime before June 2019...

Is that 1” conduit? How many THHN 14ga are you running through each?

Thanks man

Its 3/4” but I occasionally wished I had gone with 1”. The most I have running through one is 15 14guage and 8 20 gauge wires which is enough for 5 outlets and 4 float switches. It was tough but do able.

Nice work. Congrats.

What are the two latches for on top?

I’m inquisitive- sue me!

Inquire away!

The latches are over center latches I picked up in the hardware section of Lowe’s.

The panel is made up of two section- the rear, where all the ugliness occurs. And the front, where everything is displayed.

Rear box attached directly to the wall

To attach the boxes to one another, I used these flush mount brackets on the bottom of the frames:
Furniture Flush Mount Bracket- Headboard Wall Mount Hardware- Large Picture Hangers- Heavy Duty Photo Frame Hook- Stainless Steel Interlocking Z Clips (Small Size, 2 Sets with Screws) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GYZGW8N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SLybCbNCT48ZX

I then mounted the over center latches on top to pull the two frames flush against each other

Nice. I noticed the ‘false back’ of the cabinet and wondered how you did it. Now I know!

These tiny metal French cleats are cool. Good find

Looking really great Paul!

Thanks, Neil! The sump is online. Managed to get the salinity at 1.026. I’d say pretty dang good.

I’ll prep everything for my mixing station tonight and finish it up tomorrow. Once the temp gets up to 78, I’ll start with the bacteria and ammonia dosing.

Paul- how is the rear panel mounted directly to the wall? Pocket screw holes? Brackets?

Thanks

The rear panel was mounted to the wall using small L brackets from Lowe’s. I’ll take a picture later on where I installed the flush mount brackets

Okay, here’s the first water test.
IMG_1096.JPG

I was secretly hoping the tank had began a cycle in the 2 weeks it took to fill. I suppose it was too cold. None the less, we can see it has not.

My approach to this is to add as many strains as I can in order to promote competition and diversity. I’ll be using Dr. Tim’s One and Only, ATM’s Colony and Prodibio StartUp.
IMG_1095.JPG

At noon, I added the bottled bacteria and 45 minutes later, the 15ml of ammonia per Dr. Tims bottle.

The aftermath, the prodibio stuff is pretty cool if you’re a nerd like me.

I’ll retest in a few hours to check ammonia.
