I would check into this thread. I have never heard of that brand before, so I wonder if it would be strong enough for BTAs. In the words of my wife, buy cheap, buy twice.

got it through amazon so at least i can return if not giving as much par as advertised. bta really dont need incredibly strong lighting so thought f it might as well be the guinea pig

well obv not the ridiculous claims they had but at least manageable par levels. just comparing using an app on my fone but should give me a rough comparison between that and my orphek icons the btas are usually under.
for anyone thinking that i believe the number will be correct through the app, no i dont. just a comparison to my existing light's numbers

definitely needs some better quality control for the mounting system. as you can see it makes the light lean up. the problem being the actual part that comes attached to the light itself. i compensated by loosening the mount where it attaches to the tank. i will see if i can adjust this when i have some time.
it has an insanely wide spread from not having optics on the blues/purple/uv. this works out well for me as i can mount closer to the water and still have it cover the 10 gallon standard well.
light at highest white/blue channel and second highest for blue/purple/uv looks good to me but definitely a blue heavy look. the more you bring the blue/uv down, the output drops substantially.
running hot right now as well but i will open it up and check the heat sink later. popbloom rl60 also had that issue from using a flat piece of metal as a heatsink
will update later when i have time to work on it

actually i just realized that the fan isnt on. either not triggered yet or the fan is broken. i will open it up later to check if everything is plugged in properly or it will be returned and i might try a second one and see if it also has that issue. it definitely has potential but cannot recommend it as is

ok new one is here. the good news is the fan works on this unit. seems to come on when it gets to a certain temperature and then shut off. it being 100% or nothing does make the fan a bit loud but about the same as the popbloom rl60.
the bad, same mounting issue in that it tilts the unit up. that i could probably fix just by bending the metal or just making one myself out of a small piece of aluminum flat bar, but because of where it sits in the corner on my kitchen counter it isnt worth me messing with.
For $60 from amazon it isnt a bad deal and idk if i can actually find a better deal for the price but time will tell if it actually holds up over time and how corals grow under it.
hopefully i can borrow a par meter at some point to get you guys some real measurements, but this is all for now.
blues turned way down for the pic as i dont have a filter for my camera

Were you able to get any PAR readings, or even true wattage?
