Hey All,

My kole tang seems to have peeling on his back fins and I am not to sure what it could be. He is eating great, no aggression in tank, and swimming patterns seem to be normal.

Below are what I am able to test for as of right now:
,

Temp: 78 degrees
KH: 8
Calcium: 440
Phosphate : 0.016
Nitrate: 2-3ppm
Ammonia : 0
Salinity: 1.026

If anyone has any idea or medicine/QT recommendations it would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the crappy pics he’s a master of disguise and hides so these were the best pics I could take

Hey All,

I just noticed my Kole tang peeling on its back fins. He is eating great , haven’t seen any aggression in the tank, and his swimming patterns seem normal,

My parameters are below:

Temp: 78 degrees
KH: 8
Calcium: 440
Phosphate : 0.016
Nitrate: 2-3ppm
Ammonia : 0
Salinity: 1.026

This is everything i’m able to test for right now,

Does anyone know what this could be or know any medication/QT I should use?

I’m sorry the photos are not the best but this guy is a magician and appears and disappears at will.

This looks like a rash from scrape injury and has risk of becoming bacterial and suggested is treatment in a separate tank using seachem kanaplex with an air stone added to tank.
Any fish in tank harassing or chasing it?

I appreciate the information!

I’ve been trying to watch the tank more and I haven’t noticed any chasing. They all seem with each other and don’t see any “aggression” when I feed as well. I will keep looking tho!

Is the lesion only on the fish’s right side, or
is there damage on the other side as well?

Who are its tankmates?

How long have you had the fish?

Hey Jay,

it’s much worse on the right but I can notice some on the other side as well.

Foxface Rabbit fish, Coral Beauty, some green/blue chromis, and a single clown

I’ve only had him for a about 2 weeks

To me I would consider uronema - especially if on both sides - or worsening.
