Any tips on how to take care of a pencil wrasse? I’ve seen that it can be difficult to get them to eat sometimes. Any helpful tips are appreciated.

TIA

i just got a p. cerasinus a couple weeks ago and it seemingly eats just about everything i offer, surprisingly. i didn't do anything special so i can't offer much. i do feed LRS and rods among other basic offerings and it was always with a small pintail wrasse so maybe that helped encourage eating

I put mine through hybrid TTM and it did fine with that sort of QT. It did jump out twice while transferring but carpet was a plushy landing. It eats well.

Fed frozen yesterday and it wasn’t really tempted. Maybe it will start to eat in a few days.

Mine has been no more difficult than any other wrasse ive kept, the only difference being hes incredibly easily spooked, he may just need some time to feel confident and comfortable in his environment to eat, do you notice him grazing on the rocks for food?

I have not. It tends to bury itself in the sand most of the day.

I had to go through a long process with my hawaiian cleaner wrasse... perhaps this thread may give you some ideas for your wrasse in particular!
