Thanks for the update Hammer! Keep us posted. I think this has been a good learning thread thus far. Glad to hear your acros are still looking well.

Thanks for you help throughout this mess Craig. One thing for sure is that I now know that I dont want more than one tank. Two separate tanks are a PITA. I have considered hooking up my doser to the 50 gal QT just to keep levels constant. I had forgot how sensitive a smaller tank was not just with chemicals, but water additions (top offs), salt mixtures etc. Its getting hotter down here in the south and its making it difficult to keep my garage cool and water temps 80 and under. Im still runnning the light 7 hours a day and Im hoping I can make it until mid July before the 100 degree temps force my light period to a minimum.

5th dip tonight. I waited an extra week because things looked a little faded from the last round, but I wished I wouldnt have as I found tiny tracks on my tort. I had a few frags that the worms never touched and I went ahead and moved back to the main tank. I am keeping them on a frag tray to watch them closely. If bites show up on them I will likely toss them all. The worms favorite coral has been my blue tort. 2nd comes the Emerald stag. They havent hit my Echinata or Granulosa since the first dip which is certainly fine with me. Some of my smaller frags have lost half their color and seem much more sensitive than the colonies when it comes to the Melafix.

Everything is back in the main tank. Almost a 9 week process starting out with mild dips (recommended mix rate). The last 3 dips I used 50% more Melafix than recommended and did very thorough rinses after the dipping and blasting. I dont want to jinx myself, but so far everything is looking ok. Some of the colonies colors got a little washed, but they are brightening up everyday. As long as no bites show up everything will be a lot less stressfull from here on out. I just kind of hold my breath each day when checking everything out. I killed off a bunch of rock that had bubble agae on it before I set the tank back up, so a portion of my rock has been curing and is still pretty ugly in the latest photo. All of the colonies except the blue tort look good and weathered the dips very well. I kept the tort in the QT for a week longer to make sure it was not getting bit so its not in the photo. Man. It sure will be nice to be able to buy a SPS frag, but I will continue to wait because these things are MEAN my friends!
