Mostly copper, but the furan-2 might make it difficult to read as well since it discolors the water.
I just changed it about 50% of the water to drop the salinity, I haven't added any more abx yet. If you want me to add more right now I can stop back by house

If there is specific dosage instructions here, and it can be done before you can get the fenbendazole- it’s worth a try!

If you still have her 5g tank, I would set that back up for the 24-hour bath... then transfer her back to the 20g and resume antibiotics. I’m thinking it will be best to break down and clean the 20g with vinegar during the bath, then re-fill and start fresh.

Unfortunately, this means any bio-filter you’ve built up this far will be gone, so you’ll need more bio-spira and to keep a close eye on ammonia after she’s moved back.

A small snag I’m not sure the answer too? The human version of these ...azoles have saccharin in them. They are generally chewable and made this way in case a child can’t swallow pills. Only form available. Anyway, there was a study that showed saccharin can decrease photosynthesis in the plants eaten by water fleas (daphnia) then they are eaten by the fish and long term exposure ...blah blah blah. Nothing I can find about acute or short term effects. Glad to call this in just seeing what the group thinks first.

I found this article, which puts saccharin at the “top” of the negative effects list when exposed to developing fish embryos, even above caffeine. It says when introduced to zebrafish hatchlings it induced a 92% mortality rate [emoji15]

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4562911/

I’m not sure how this would translate to adult, fully matured fish but I’m not experienced or knowledgeable enough to weigh in one way or another on the risk vs. benefits here...

Yes I saw that. Good point. Of course the developing embryo much more fragile. Yikes. I’ll let you all decided the rock benefit ratio of waiting vs starting.

I can tell you that Panacur also has fillers to include saccharin similar chemicals, dextrose, maltodextran, and other starch fillers.

Would a pharmacy that does compounding possibly have it available without saccharin?

That's ok, I figured I'd have the best chance of someone being online if I tagged everyone. Thanks for the response!

I just got home and she's looking good, breathing normal, and eating! What's the best plan until I get the fenbendazole @Frtdrmrose7 @ngoodermuth? MB if she starts to go downhill again?

Salinity is still at 1.017
Heater is still unplugged
Light is off
3 airstones going in the tank
Power head for surface agitation
I also haven't dosed the abx back up since I changed out about 50% of the water to drop the salinity this morning

I think she’ll be ok short term but the MB would be the best bet in a worst case scenario
