Here she is, looking better than ever! Sorry it took so long tonight, I got home a little late from work and then had to change out di resin. I also just bought and installed a second di canister so I can stop throwing out unused resin

Much better!

Where is Dori's morning check up?:)
She's doing great! She gave me a scare by deciding to sleep nose down against the sponge filter, I took the pic after I moved the filter and she started swimming around

@ngoodermuth, baby Dory is actively swimming and eating and doesn't appear to be in distress (besides being a typical high strung blue tang) but she is breathing rapidly. Should I be concerned or do you think that it's just from the gill damage and it will get better as she heals? I've been dosing prime every night since she's been in the MB and there's nothing showing on the ammonia alert badge

Hmm... I’d maybe do a water change just in case. Ammonia can creep up before it even registers on the alert badge IME.

Do you think 50% or should I do more?

If it’s not even registering on the alert badge, I think 5 gallons would be fine to start and just see if that makes a difference. If you are able to get a video of her breathing, that might help.

I'll see if I can get one

Also, is it even worth adding biospira with the MB in the tank or would that be useless?

It’s not useless, just might not be as effective as it would without the MB. I believe @4FordFamily uses bio-spira with NFG, because of the MB.

I actually got one on the first try! I think everyone will enjoy watching this instead of a still pic

It’s pretty fast... if a water change doesn’t help, it might be that she still needs the antibiotics.

How’s the salinity holding up?
I've been testing every day and keeping it topped off, I just checked it again and it's at 1.009

@ngoodermuth, I have 5 gallons changed out and I've dosed the MB, prime, and biospira. How long should I wait to see a change in her breathing? I'm pretty sure the alert badge is still reading zero but I'm not the best at differentiating colors on tests and the MB is making it even harder. Maybe there's a trace of ammonia?

The ammonia badge could be a "smidgen" over safe so somewhere between .02-.05... but like you said, it's hard to tell for sure with the blue water. It does take a couple of hours for the badge to change colors, so you can double check to see if it looks a little different.

If it's ammonia, the breathing should get better pretty quickly. How does she look now?
