Hello,

I have been learning about calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium in a reef tank, now I am learning about ph. What is a way to raise ph in a reef tank without messing up the other perameters: calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium?

What is your current pH? It will be difficult to raise it without changing parameters in your tank - many of the chemical ways involve dosing calcium & alkalinity in a balanced way (kalkwasser topoff water, etc).

Opening a window near the tank would be a great test. If you do that for a day and notice the tank's pH increases then you know that you have stagnate air in your house and can think about ways to ventilate. I ran a tube through my wall to the outside and use that to get air for my skimmer which helps my tank's pH.

Running a refugium or algae reactor can also help, as plants will use CO2 as they grow.
