Ph of Alkatronic Reagent

Hi

Recently been getting Error Code 03 with a new batch of Hydrochloric Acid Solution 0.02M (0.02N) diluted 9:1 with RO.

Error 03 in the manual suggest dilution strength of the reagent.

So before I contact the seller the Ph of the reagent I am seeing is 2.8 - this sound about right ?

Been using the same brand for some time now so somewhat puzzled.

The pH of 0.02 N HCl is 1.7. How are you measuring it? It may be your measurement that is off.

Hi Randy thanks for speedy response.

I am using the Alkatronic Ph probe and the HCL is diluted to 9 parts RO 1 part HCL.

I will check the PH of pure HCL

Hi

I had ordered HCL 0.02N I should have ordered HCL 0.2N.

0.02N is weaker.

Is its pH 1.8?
Can you recommend a hobby grade kit or probe that can accurately test such low pH with to confirm that the mix is correct?

I don’t think you can accurately enough measure pH to be sure of the acid concentration, but the oh of 0.02 N sulfuric is 1.70.
