Since I switched from 2-Part to a Ca reactor over a year ago (due to a lack of time), my pH has been running a bit lower at 7.8-8.1. This didn't seem to affect anything so I never paid too much attention to it. However, this morning my pH monitor scared the crap out of me, it read 6.74. The lights are off but looking in the tank everything seem ok. I tested pH with an old API test kit and got a reading of ~7.8 which lead me to believe the pH probe is bad or need calibration. It's a PinPoint probe that's only about 3 months old, any bad experience with these probes?

The part that bothers me is that when I drop the probe in my effulent cup, I get the same reading of 6.7 which is about right.

clean it and re calibrate and check alk just in case.

shake up the probe in some RO

stick back in tank and check. sometimes sediment gets on it.
