Looking for advice. I have a 125 gallon with a 50 gallon sump. I have about 13 fish. No coral. Fully cycled. I can't seem to get my phos and nitrates down. I have done a 30 gallon water change a few times and it has made almost no difference. No huge amount of algae, several huge snails and some hermit crabs and a cinnamon shrimp. I thought maybe I was feeding too much but the fish eat every single bit and are still looking for more. I have to feed to shrimp a couple pellets specifically because the fish don't even give him a chance to get anything. Been looking at chemipure?

Nitrate is good.

You can lower phosphate by using GFO or lanthanum chloride. Chemipure elite has GFO inside.

Fish excrete most of the nitrogen and phosphorus they consume from foods.

How do you use the chemipure?

If you have a reactor, you can put it in a reactor;

if not, you can place it in a bag in a high flow area of your system

Also; do you plan on having corals in the futre? that amount of nutrients in a FOWLR is no problem.

Do you have a refugium with macroalgae?

Also, when you say Cinnamon Shrimp, do you mean a Peppermint Shrimp?
