Hi all!

I'm gonna get three or four posters made of some of my photos. Just for the walls near my coral tanks. There is this one print you can get where the poster is sandwiched between two pieces of acrylic and there is a light source illuminating the print. Or just some glossy on pieces of foam board. I haven't decided yet. Pick your favorite of the photos if you can imagine them at least 4'x4' BIG! I might crop some of them. Pics taken on a 21 megapixel Cannon Mark II with 100mm Macro IS lense. Give me your opinion :xd:

Thanks,
Kris

I think #1 or #3.

I like the first one and the pics where taken with a 1ds mkii the mkii is just 8.1mpg the 1ds is the 21.

I've got the Canon EOS 5D Mark II :) The one your describing is the Mark III i think.

Do you guys think the pictures could be totally in focus? I'm a pretty bad photographer but I get lucky every once in a while and they turn out ok. Can anyone give me any advice with this camera and the focus thing. I don't use a tripod when the photos are surface down shots. Maybe I could get an arm for my tripod?

Seems like everyone likes #4, that's one of my favorites too, the Bananas acan never shows its mouth. That photo is a nighttime LED shot.

Do you guys think #7 is too white? I think it was taken during the middle of the day with all bulbs on and indirect sunlight.

I personally like #5 and #7. And here's why...

I'll start with #5. I personally like this photo becasue it displays a great characteristic of corals to come in the different variety of colors even though they are the same coral species (ACAN Lords). I also like it because unlike many photos of corals where the main subject is in the middle of the FOV (field of view) it seems that in this photo the main focus is the acan on the bottom of the picture, yet if you look closely some piece of every acan colony is in focus. Cool effect! Plus the colors are awesome!

As for #7 I like this photo as well as it sticks to a more traditional shot of a FOV right in the middle of the picture. This photo seems to capture the true essessence of a coral reef in that all the corals seem to live in such close proximity to eachother. Cool shots.

Being a photographer myself (and having created large banners of reef photography) One tip I could give you would be to play with your ISO as it will provide you with a bunch of different DOF (Depth of Field) options. Maybe on some of your fungia shots you can get all the tenticles in focus rather than just the ones right under the Center AF sensor. Overall great shooting. You definitely have the camera to take these shots. Any other questions feel free to ask.

-good job, let me know how it turns out.
