Folks - About 1 week ago I had an unexplained loss of a Royal Gramma, see posts here: and here:

Over the past 2-3 days my PJ Cardinal has been hiding a bit more, not eating (you can see the bits of Mysis he is ignoring in the video), and maybe breathing heavy?

Video:

Any thoughts on what could be happening? Please help

What foods are you offering? They’re almost exclusively frozen food
What is age of fish?

I alternate between frozen mysis and pellets (today was the former). Up until a few days ago he would happily eat both and often swim up to meet me when it was feeding time.

I have had him for about 3 months and has had no trouble eating before since day 1.

The cardinal is breathing too fast. I suspect it has whatever the gramma did. Did you ever treat for flukes? If not, I think that would be the next course of action.

Thanks - Unfortunately, he passed later that night so I wasn't able to treat quickly enough. Looks like I will be going fallow for a while
