Well...not much going on with the tank. Still fighting hair algae but I'm not letting it bring me down!!!
I picked up a 45g SCA tank and plumbed into the sump of the 130. Moved my Colorado Sun Burst into it. The pic makes him look redder than he actually is.

I feel bad for never updating this thread...just not much happening with the tank. I finally got my PO4 up and stabilized in the .1 - .15 range consistently for about the last month. It had been staying around .03 -.04. And of course with that comes more algae!!!!! Got home Sunday and saw my CSB was ready for its closeup. The disc is now around 6" - 7" across.

Well...I'm still battling the ugly algae that covers the rocks (the kind that you can blow off with a baster) and the bright green stuff that carpets the sand.

This was weekend before last. It only takes about a week to look like this after cleaning.

After a good cleaning it looks like this.

I've been prepping to introduce SPS again and have had new rock getting seeded in the 45g that's attached to the system. After cleaning everything on Monday I switched out all of the rock. Old rock into the 45g and new rock in here. I'm still getting the bright green on the sand. Might pick up a sand sifting goby to see if that'll help deter it from forming.

Hey old thread I know but I just bought a 48x24 PA Crystalline and will be building a 40 breeder sump with a roller mat baffle kit. Trying to incorporate a carbon reactor and uv light. Any extra advice on the plumbing? I'm thinking bean animal if it's possible.

Also I have never done this before so it will be crazy I'm sure.

I actually sold the tank when I moved several years ago. On my current tank I built a manifold to run my UV from.
Keep up the good fight.

Is that 45 going to be for nems? Or mixed?

Edit oh dang Brent bumped a 6 year old thread and got me
Yes, it "was" going to be for nems. :-)
