So I've noticed my candy Cain corral was starting to split I honestly thought it was growing a new head but then now it looks as if it's about to break away from the coral all together please help and let me know what's happening!!!! Thank you in advance

Not sure what is going on. Do you have anything in the tank that might have picked at it? Any chance it got damaged by something falling on it?

Looks like a very specific area is why I’m wondering about an injury.

What are your parameters?

I did have a green file fish that nipped at it so he's goon but that was over a month ago...

Only thing I see on your parameters, which probably doesn’t have anything to do with the candy cane, is 0.00 phosphates. Might want to feed reef roids or an amino acid vitamin supplement like Aquavitro Fuel.

You probably have some and not truly 0 using hobby grade testing, but many corals use phosphates as food/fuel.

Mag very high and calcium elevated but not dangerous level. Looks like a result of injury to tissue hanging by protective mucus.
Allow that loose piece to dislodge by itself and keep eye on elevated levels and assure flow is not too strong which can cause tissue separation. Moderate light and water flow is all thats needed and feed 2x per week with mysis shrimp

Yes- right before lights out
Their feeders emerge fairly quick when tank goes dark

recommended. Within minutes of lights out, their little feeders emerge.
