Who are you and what are you talking about? The skimmer is still in my sump, still for sale and I have never had any communication with you. Beware of this clown making false posts.

I’m at a loss… this guy posts an offer to buy skimmer the night before Easter at 10:20pm. Didn’t even see post bc I was asleep when post made. Today is Easter, and he’s claiming to have been “scammed”?! How?? I never replied to first post and how exactly would something have been shipped on Easter Sunday less than a day after his supposed offer??

I sent Infamous78 a PM and posted on the thread that I would take the skimmer. Shortly after someone I guess posing as Infamous78 text me. Answered all of the questions that I had. Because of the random text I had them send me a picture of the skimmer with the yesterday’s date on it to confirm their authenticity. See picture.

Unfortunately I agreed to Friends and Family to save the fees as I have never had an issue on here before I agreed to. After I paid it was stated that they never received funds and if I sent another $300 they would ship. At that point I knew I had been scammed.

I have just been looking everywhere for one of these skimmers and was excited and foolish. I will contact PayPal but figuring that I am out the $370 I had sent.

I am not saying that Infamous78 did this but had to warn people incase his account was hacked.

I had something similar happen to me trying to buy a light. Someone was posing as the seller, but they contacted me thru email. They also insisted on friends and family even after I offered to pay the PayPal fees. They still insisted on friends and family. Then I was contacted by the actual seller thru pm.

Some key things to consider. Only communicate thru pm. While not perfect at least you know your communicating with the person with the listing. 2nd anyone who doesn't want to use good and services shouldn't be selling. The fees are relatively small and if they don't want to pay then they should include it in the price

Never pay friends and family unless it's actually friends and family. Never!

They know, and they have it listed as a sticky on marketplace. They have no control, especially if your communicating outside of r2r

Yes, I have learned my lesson. Just sucks as that skimmer was the last piece to my build but now with the $370 I am going to have to buy some crap $100 skimmer

I have contacted customer support about this. I have not replied to Mester320 as it’s Easter and I haven’t been home much through the day. I did mention the picture that you have added with my sump/skimmer and a hand with a date on it. While the skimmer and sump are my picture, the hand, paper and hand written note are not my hand, or handwriting. I have no idea how ppl are capable of photoshopping or using software to do that, but you most certainly did not ever receive a message from me directly. I will customer support has to offer to this, but this is absolutely a first as I have never experienced this on this site before.

I understand that about Easter and being with family but you did have time to post 4 times to ridicule me for being a “clown” and a “liar”?

They were able to answer questions about the skimmer immediately like it was their own and the picture was sent back within minutes of my request. I simply wanted to warn people as it was really well organized. I hope you have made attempts to undo whatever you did to turn me in to the moderators.
