Would you know what those white growth thing is sticking out ?it doesn't look particularly harmful, it just seems like stndard algae growth due to excess nutrients in the water, i.e nitrate phosphate
Hopefully these helpon the euphyllia coral? it's hard to tell from such a blurry pic when i zoom in, but it almost looks like the coral putting out a new branch.
Those are pineapple sponges. Signs of a mature reef.
So those okay to leave on or am I supposed to remove ? Lols mature I’ve only had it for like 2-3months now. Only use cycled media from my LFS maybe that’s why.I'm going to go with my standard... Pineapple Sponge
I'm fairly certain Pineapple Sponges are the "Lupus" of the reefing hobby.
But I'd suggest not eating them...pineapple sponges, that's a new one for me! good to know.
Well it was an emergency for me because didn’t know what it was and needed to know how to continue.Algae and pineapple sponges. Normal and not an emergency.
Great thank you I guess I have a big wc to do and some deep cleaning to get to.Yeah, pineapple sponges are totally harmless, but they do tend to grow to large populations before dying off, and some people think they're annoying when there are a lot of them.
Its not a big deal but FYI, the other factor to consider would be inaction in the short term is going to cause harm. Just the "need to know" by itself does not equate to an emergency.Well it was an emergency for me because didn’t know what it was and needed to know how to continue.
Pineapple Sponge Cake is most definitely not made from Pineapple Sponges.Dang it , now all I can think about is pineapple sponge cake
