Figure I would ask here to get more eyes on the question

I am setting up my ro/di unit this weekend and I’m looking to avoid using a saddle valve as I have read on here there not the best choice

So where I am using my Ro/di unit I have a cold water supply for the outside spicket, I want to tap into that and I want to know if anyone has had good luck with the sharkbite pro lock? It’s the plastic version of the original

I know what I want to do for the ro/di hook up I just need to tap into the supply so I can install something that will allow me to put the part that came with the unit that screws on and then you insert your ro/di line

Here are a few pictures of what I’m talking about since I’m probably making this more confusing then it needs to be

I'm not following what you're trying to do, but I'll point out the the two SharkBIte connectors are half inch, and most RODI filters use quarter inch hoses.

If you have a garden hose type spigot, that connector from BRS just screws right on, and your RODI hose just pushes in.

Are you trying to have it so that you can use your garden hose and feed water to your RODI at the same time?

I have used 3 or 4 SharkBite water shut off valves and have not had a problem with them at all.

I notice your location is Detroit, if this is outside, how are you going to keep the lines from freezing?

With something like this, you can easily feed your RODI filter from any cold water line in your house. Click this link, and take a look at the third pic.

The line I want to tap into is inside in the basement, it just happens to be the one that feeds the outside spicket
