Are you just starting the GFO? Your last msg says pathos stops moving? Do you mean the rowaphos? If that is the case then that is what you want as it will break down if let to tumble. I would say start slowly and ramp up. That basically goes for everything with reefkeeping. Small changes but this is especially true for phos, .5 is not an emergency and in fact can be a completely healthy level.

into my reactor. I want to understand what kind of duct is needed.
After turning on the reactor after 12 hours, I made a measurement of the phosphate became 0.4. It seems to me that I have a strong duct coming out of the reactor.
Laid 300ml of rowa.

I am not sure what you mean by duct. I'm assuming flow rate. You certainly should slow the flow quite a bit if phos dropped .1 in 12h. I would say tho depending on the testing method .1 is not necessarily all that accurate in that range for instance with the hi range hanna checker.

you may want to do as I do...rum the exit pipe into a wad of filter floss... even with a very slight tumble / bubbling of the rowa I find it deposits a very fine brown/red silt...the floss catches it great

I have two sponges in the reactor. I made the duct smaller.
I am interested in the volume of the rova for 800 liters

When I see .25 or .5 phosphate, I usually just assume an API test kit, is that right?

The API test kit for phosphate is not accurate enough for our purpose, you need a better test kit, and should not use GFO without testing with a good test kit and knowing for sure what the phosphate level really is.

For tests, I use exclusively Hannah for phosphorus 736.

I wouldn't worry about the level being .5. my system runs at 1 PPM. Mine is a mixed reef and sps are encrusting. As long as it's stable and no algae issues, don't chase the numbers.

Especially with Gfo, don't lower it faster as it affect corals, even start them getting bleached. Take it very slow.

I never finish anythi

Agreed. My po4 is between 0.3 and 0.5 with no problems. Corals look healthy and no algae. I don't really scrape my glass either. I do have a good cuc tho .

Hi. My phosphate 0.5 decreases to 0.3 after laying 300ml of rowa in one hour. After 12 hours of rowa operation in the reactor, my phosphate returns to 0.5.

I would suggest to remove the gfo. Stay with usual husbandry like water changes. Feed what the fish can eat.

I have tried all for reducing phosphate chasing numbers with gfo, pellets, lanthanum, scrubber.but only to result in losing sps because of reducing phosphate faster or even slower.

So started to embrace that based on my feeding and husbandry my phosphate are higher than hobbyist consider.

Never lost a single after stopping chasing numbers.

I feed a lot, change water once a month. Handling phosphate through Skimmer and reefmat. On top of that do nothing.
