My girlfriend names them. Makes it convenient to keep tabs on everyone when doing a head count and it's the only part of the hobby she enjoys - coming up with the names and why she names them that

I have a red lined wrasse named Clouseau - because he inspects everything and finds nothing.

My purple tang is named Shadow, because from across the room when he's against the back wall it looks like a yellow tang with a missing body.

My 3 blue/green chromis are named Tres Hombres.

I'm down to two blue/green chromis. I just call them the twins. It's easier.

My 5 yo loves naming fish. Even when we're at the LFS he points at a fish and says "I want to name him!"
