Noticed my polyps weren’t out today so I tested. Didn’t really see anything that was off. My cheato did die out but I think that was due to me smothering it with some carbon for 4 days.

alk 8.4
cal 444
mag 1350
trate 7.2
phos .07

ended up cleaning out the back chambers of My bio cube. It was full of crud. 5 gal Water charge done two days early. I took my readings before the WC.

Phos a tad high. You want up to .04 or below
Check phosphate and nitrate also

I don't see anything wrong....numbers look good. I would just watch them.....something is obviously irritating them.

Not sure I understand. I did check phosphate and nitrate. I will see if I bring it down to .04.

Yep. I cant think Of anything. I did increase my lighting intensity by 3-5%. I’m going to try and run another par test.

When using LEDs, that small percentage might have been enough to hopefully, temporarily at least, irritate them. Definitely see what kind of PAR increase you got with that extra percentage.

Nutrients are fine, nothing wrong there. Carbon polishes the water, perhaps the clearer water could have bumped par slightly and corals are responding. Also, removing gunk, water change, also added to increased clarity. Also a change in powerhead position with possibility of less surface tension, could also increase par. I personally use t5, corals don't seem to care about these above shifts, that could effect corals under led.

Wait it out. It just started today.

But do keep a close eye on the entire tank. This may not not be a big deal, but it might also be a first indicator of something starting.

Based on your numbers, I wouldn't be too worried.

I did move my power head and return line position. Hmmm.

Why?

Always think about the potential consequences of fixing something that isn't broken.

My zoas and GSP get grumpy sometimes and of course I turn into Chicken Little and think the sky is falling... even though my parameters are good. But within a few days they are back to normal or even growing new polyps.
