Hey all,

Just arrived home to find something wrong with my puffers eye. I’m assuming this is an injury but want to be sure that it’s not cloudy eye.
(It also appeared to have some sort of mucus string hanging from said spot, not leaking)

This just appeared while I was gone for 9-ish hours.

Tank is an AGA 125, was just set up about 1-2 weeks ago with media from old tank.

The fact that it appeared in that short a time suggest an injury of some sort. I would not necessarily treat with anything - but watch carefully for any other symptoms that suggest a systemic disease. If it's worse AT ALL - you could consider an antibiotic in a hospital tank. Nice fish BTW

With the eye hazed over white, I suggest treating in lieu of waiting for it to become infected- treat with Maracyn for at least 5 days with air stone added

With a rapid onset like that, on only one eye, I’d say that’s an injury. Tough to gauge in the photo how serious it is.
As long as the fish is eating well, the eye doesn’t get any worse, I’d just monitor it.
