Hi,I just started keeping saltwater, this is my first tank and first fish, I made the mistake of not quarintining because I assumed since she was going to be my only there would be no issue. The tank was already cycled for 2 months before I got her online. And since then I've had no issue for 5 months. The tank is stable and my parameters are normal! I missed a water change one day. I do 10% once every 7 days, but did 15% next day since this is a nano 14g I dont do too large. The only other thing in here are snails and macros, the tank itself is healthy but this happened overnight? What can I use to fix this and do you have any idea what it is? I think brooklynella or velvet bc Ive seen velvet and ich on my freshwater tanks. will i have to take down the whole tank?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

#WelcometoR2R

It does look like you've got something going on, might be a good idea to ask the #fishmedic team to take a look.

Did you add anything to the tank recently, even inverts like snails or a piece of coral?

She is still eating like a pig and swimming normally ie not bashing uncomfortably. her fins arent clamped either I hope I caught it early. but im nearly completely ignorant to saltwater diseases.

This is not Brook and not Velvet. I would treat for Ich with Copperpower or Coppersafe and use a Hanna High Range Coper Kit to monitor the level. Most likely the Snails got you with Tomonts encrusting on the snail shells. I always QT Inverts because many LFS like mine have fish housed in Tanks with inverts. In my opinion a very bad practice. Your best bet is to remove the clown and treat him in a separate QT Hospital/Tank and you will have to Fallow your DT. At least you only have one fish to catch.

Fish has ich and You will need to place fish in Quarantine tank and treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25 for a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored with a Hanna Brand copper test kit- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone. All other fish in with it should also be removed as they have also been exposed to the parasites and placed in quarantine tank.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off.
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store, a Rubbermaid type tub or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.

Thank you so much for the diagnosis I was really stumped, since it is ich would hypo salinity for 30-35 days work for the DT? and copper treatment for the quarantine tank? I have some corals in the mail that will be here tomorrow so the timing was really unfortunate and I dont want to do dose copper in there! Again thank you for the advice

Hypo will kill all your inverts but you could use it to treat your clown in a hospital tank. I would go with Copper Power though. Hypo is effective but the salinity levels are precise and need to monitored/maintained.
