Can you get some Cipro from family or friends. Do you have a veterinarian that you could explain the need and right you a script. This is the only place I have found that I can order it without a script. 500mg per 20g. Skimmer off and carbon out.

Also look up the ingredients for the KFC dip, the best thing that I know of for bjd, I have all the ingredients in a shoebox since my experience with bjd a few years ago.

i’ve noticed this growing under my
rocks. Haven’t seen it on any direct coral besides on my zoa rock. Is this brown jelly disease?
If so what’s the best way to treat my tank i have a good amount of expensive coral. It started about a month ago hasn’t gotten worse but hasn’t gone away. Do a couple water changes. Please give advice to treat/ remove.

I'm following this thread with great interest. I am not familiar with the KFC dip. I did dip some infected frags with BJD in a cipro bath with no benefit, and I also dosed cipro in a coral QT with no benefit. In both cases, the BJD advanced so quickly I'm not sure anything would have worked.

Your comments suggest you've had much better success than I have with treatment. How do you recommend in tank treatment for BJD when it's not practical/possible to remove the coral due to its connection to large rock structures? Is the KFC process useful for any visible ailments the coral may experience or is it limited to BJD?

I have used Lugols for a dip for new frags but not in the concentration you must use given the color reference you made. Do you use Lugols for dipping new frags and do you still mix until the "light ice tea" concentration in those cases?

I have done in tank treatment as soon as I’ve seen a head developed it. Lost a head at one time and saved one as well. The intake Cipro treatment completely prevented it from spreading to the rest. The KFC dip is for saving the head affected, I would still dose the tank after with cipro at the levels I described above for 7-10 days, followed by a water change. With bjd you have to act fast so if you have euphyllia I recommend at least keeping cipro on hand. KFC dip was developed by Kung Fu Corals and seems to have an amazing success rate.

Iodine dip is outside the tank, cipro is an in tank treatment.

I saw in the pics lots of sponge and a little bubble algae. That coral definitely had something bad happen to it could have been bjd. In tank cipro treatment saved my stuff. I was afraid of doing it but the kfc dips and iodine dips and straight week long qt transfers in cipro did not stop it, slowed it down yes but whenever there was a stressful event the corals would develop bjd again. I used 100ml of water and 1000mg of cipro 2 500mg tablets I dissolved them in the 100ml of rodi water kept in a dark bottle in the refrigerator. My dose said by tank volume said to dose 6ml every other day for 7 days. I dosed 10ml per day for 10 days by day 6 or 7 my eupyllia looked much better. I left the tank alone on day 11 restarted the skimmer on day 12 and added some carbon on day 13 I did a 30% water change. All euphyllia look 100% better with great growth now in fact many corals look better and are growing well. The fish look and act healthy. I have noticed no ill effects. This is what I followed.
