Well, made up for last weekend.

Got another put put car, since about to have to start going into the office again.

Got the red Volvo stripped down and hauled off to the scrap yard. Surprisingly, all of the metal parts were still good. Threw a spare harness, new injectors and rubber on the motor and it started and ran on the engine stand like a champ. So there is hope for another build. Gonna do a wagon if I do end up doing it.

Today is going to be the following.

Swap 7’ frag back to t5s
Move some rock from its sump to the macro grow out sump.

Sort and thin out the macro grow out.

Setup shroom tub for my 31 shrooms (thanks for the enabling @LRT lol)

Hoping it all goes well.

Well, life and work happened. Didn’t get crap done.

Today is the day. Have to do something, as shrooms are in both 180s on racks, in the angler biocube 32, in the 7’ frag and even have a few in the macro tank lol.

Plus I just got a new ritt and purple LTA for the 7’.

Fish barn is ready, so after gagrage is cleaned up, a small stand is getting built with my gold plated 2x4s I paid 3 bucks a piece for before wood was crazy priced lol.

Bout to be a fun day.

Will leave y’all with some pics of ritt right after acclimation yesterday and this morning. Cam video was reviewed and 0 deflation over the 18 hours in the tank. Hoping this guy doesn’t need treatment. Would be the first in 6 years.

You need to talk me through these "plate" types, I'd love one but worried about them eating small fish. ;)

knock knock.
no drilling?
Ohh there was. Even sanding as I forgot that there are bumps that stick out on the inside of the tub. ;Facepalm

2 drains. One main and one emergency. Tuning it now.
Return is an old mag pump for now. Plan to get a dc one when get back from Florida. It goes bulkhead and black soft hose to pump. Lock line inside tank with 1 up and one on bottom. Siphon break drilled in locking just below surface.

Stand is some scrap pallet wood made into a stand lol.

Starts with no mess and ends with crap still all over floor lol.

So far, no leaky leaky after an hour of being full.
Also, ignore the sock and no that is not fresh silicone on the one bulkhead. I was lazy and haven’t peeled it off yet. I usually do not run them, but added the sand in the tub to the frag tank and stirred some stuff up lol.

Total cost of this is whatever the tub cost 6 years ago and whatever all of the scrap pieces of pipe equates to.

Lighting will be an sb reef light that only the blue works and supplemented with 2x coral plus bulbs for now.

Did the full power loss test. The tub and the 7’ acrylic frag share the same 50 gallon tub sump. Sump sits about 8” deep for water level. Drain back only added 2.5”. Leaves me 5.5” of room before it overflows. Plenty of space lol.

I just did the same testing the other day on my 40b to make sure I would have enough, once i add another 2'x2'. Plenty of room.

What sort of overall turnover are you thinking you'll have?
I want 500 or so, but gonna be tricky to not have a ton of flow blasting shrooms and still get that much turnover.

Pump is a danner mag drive model 7. So should be about 500-550 as it sits now. Only about 2 feet of head pressure at most, add 2 90s and then the 2x flat return nozzles should equate to an actual head pressure of 3-4’.

Yes that's what I'm worried about and I've got 10" of water.

And it is now tuned. About 1/4” to overflow after all settled from filling back up when turning power on.

@LRT, I am about to hop on the shroom train. Choo Choo!!!

so the upturned is emergency?
if that is the case, how is the surface water being skimmed?
this is a huge issue with mine right now and why I'm adding the sump tub.

There is a small whirlpool on the main drain. If it becomes an issue with noise or surface scum, I will change it to trickle down the emergency for skimming of surface.

There is also option 3 nd what I have done on the macro tank. 1/4 hole right at waters surface on the elbow for the main drain. Doesn’t make noise, but pulls surface skim from the overflow box.

any chance you can make this stupid simple for me and hook me up with a stock list/sizes for bulkheads, pvc and whatever else I need?
