Hi guys!

So i recently added more sand to my tank,
And i started to get a lot more new tankmates for example: 11 baby trochus snails, and i will add pictures of 2 other animals i spotted but i have no idea what they are….. some type of coral or anemone? Maybe Aiptasia? And i have no idea what type of snail this is and or if it’s good or bad?

Now i don’t know if this is because of the live sand or maybe just a coincidence

Thank you in advance for all the information

First critter is almost certainly an Aptasia anemone, which many regard as a pest. The second I am thinking stomatella snail, which if so they are harmless and welcome CUC members.

Here's more on the dreaded Aptasia 😆

Snail is one of the best you can rarely buy and for aptasia- Keep it simple, -- using a syringe or pipette, mix kalk paste with ro water into a paste like toothpaste and inject into center core and it will melt away

Why is it considered pest?
I tried removing it but i gave up because i couldn’t it’s so small that it disappears into the rock that my toadstool is attached to.
Thank you so much for your information i will take a look at the YouTube videos

Aiptasia will spread like wildfire in a tank and sting coral. They are an invasive anemone species. Better to take care of it now before it gets out of hand.

Many consider them a pest because they can multiply quickly and overtake a tank, even stinging corals. If you're just seeing one or two now, it's a good time to try and go after them. Don't scrape it or cut it, doing so can cause little bits of tissue to settle elsewhere and grow into a whole new Aptasia. That's one of the ways they can spread so quickly. Do as Vette mentioned above with Kalkwasser, or I've had good luck going to my local pharmacy like CVS or Walgreens, and get a small needle and syringe for all of 50 cents. Load it with lemon juice or white vinegar, then stick and inject the anemone. That has worked well for me in the past.

One aptasia can become 30-40 bi-weekly
