I have had quite a few anemones but never a magnifica. Mine all shriveled up daily and reexpanded, water exchange and waste expulsion i believe. I dont know for sure, but i would think all anemones do.
Ball up is not the same at "shriveled". If I understand "shriveled" right, your anemone is in trouble and need to be treat. Sick anemones, Magnifica specifically, deflated daily. They will inflated less and less and decline from there.
Good luck

Wrong terminology.
Just normal daily water exchange.

Magnifica Anemone do not do "daily water exchange". They contracted a little at night but should never shrivel up.
Anemones that are easier to keep may survive infection by dump out the bad water and refill with good water, but Gigantea and Magnifica are much more delicate and generally do not survive infection without help.

The first 4 pictures are pictures of this anemone under full light spectrum. The last two pictures are picture of the smae anemone under actinic tank light but with 4X6000K flood lights (25 Watts each) shine on it along with the actinic tank light.

Yes, they do with some amount of frequency.
I wish mine would split. It’s encroaching on 20” I diameter in a 112 gallon 5’ display so takes more than it’s 1/3rd of the tank.

That said, it remains the wife’s favorite creature and a beautiful animal. If it would just chill on growing. We bought at maybe 5” just under 18 months ago and we do not direct feed for obvious reasons LoL.

Here’s mine!

Right in the middle of my (mostly SPS) tank:

It’s about 16” across now. I don’t feed it. Pair of spawning clowns do sometimes feed him though.
