Here’s my 225 peninsula debating on making doors for stand bottom. Cause it’s not making much to any noise. Wires are not tucked away on it just fired it up to start cycling.

Are your doors on hinges? How did you get them to stay. Would like to see more of your stand

Yes... it has soft close 3/4" overlay hinges. 1/2" would have been better but no one had what I needed in stock. I just added a 1/4" to the hinge side of the interior frame where the hinges mount so I could use the 3/4" and not have the doors bind against the outside frame. I'll take photos when it gets put back together. I have the doors off for paint at the moment.

Looks good to me. You built it. It holds up your tank... and you saved probably $300.

Really like the design. Strong and sturdy but not massively built with tons of 2x4s like many DIY wood stands,

Mine is traditional 2x4 construction with a 3/4” plywood top and floor and 1/4” plywood skin. Doors are attached with French cleats. Trim is 1x3 with a 1x2 lip trim to cover the black base trim of the tank.

Some amazing stands in here. I’m currently looking for ideas on a new stand since I’m moving and figure now is the time to do it. I will have a small fish room behind the tank so I am looking for stands that are open underneath, no doors etc. just want to see what they look like. Anyone have some pictures for me!?

I'd suggest that you look at steel, or something other than wood, for such a stand. Gives a much more 'open' and flexible use of space than your typical skinned dimensional lumber frame.

I’m in the middle of doing the same thing. How did you reinforce? I don’t see any reinforcements in the cabinet opening. Did you add thicker lumber to the outside of the cabinet?

I added a 5/8” back ( glued ) to the outside and 5/8” sides to the inside ( glued ). All plywood.
I also reinforced the top with 3/4” plywood inset into the opening and then glued the finish piece on. That is 3/4” edge glued board.
