Hi all,

Wondering if there is anyone here that has frag/colony of the POTO Showstopper coral. I grabbed one in an auction and have been disappointed so far. Color isn't even close to what is advertised. I reached out to them and was advised that they achieve this green/pink/yellow coloration under the Radion AB+ program on the Radion XR30 G6. I have a Prime HD with a Lux engine 4 Blue puck upgrade so I have tried to emulate AB+ ( I have a number of presets and then dialed it in from there ). It never changes from the colors seen below. If you have this coral and have it appearing as shown with the green body can you advise as to your lighting schedule and anything else you did to achieve this coloration? Thanks!

Note, that this is the same coral in all 3 pictures. The frag I purchased, then in my tank with different light schedules.

How long have you had it?

It takes at least a few months for a coral to color up in new environments, so I wouldn’t be too upset yet.

Acropora speciosa...this coral is a unicorn. If it is still alive, I would consider that a win. This coral is difficult. I am going to try another frag that is to be sent to me because the first one died within a few days. 30 day guarantee.... I am going to keep it low, like 150-200 par low and hope for the best when I get it.

It looks better in the second pic. I see a little green.

FWIW, I have seen increased polyp extension after a few weeks of consistent amino acid dosing. I add 6 drops of polyplab polyp booster followed by reef roids to my 30 mixed reef daily, just after I feed my fish.

A vendor mentioned to me that he has the most success with his speciosa running his alkalinity near natural seawater, between 7.8 -8.2

Let me know how it goes. I'll keep you in the loop as well. Good luck

I don’t have a poto one but I have the battle corals one”same coral” .. this has been growing well for me after losing a couple.. high flow and med to low light has been the ticket for me! They don’t like getting blasted by the sun haha! It’s a little brighter in person than this.. I’ll have to get a filtered pic.

Oh is it supposed to be low light? That might be my issue. It is coloring up for me but slowly.

You can reach out to their sales email. Jessica helped me with some parameters. Unfortunately, Speciosa is SUPER sensitive to alk swings and didn't make it after three months in my tank.

I am curious, what is your light level for this one currently? Do you have a PAR value?

I’ve lost 3 of them and I was blasting them with light.. I’m not really sure their requirements as they’re newer.. this time I went low lights and have had really good luck!

that would be super useful. Mine is somewhere around 300-350 PAR. I can move it down a bit if necessary depending on what yours is at.

I know they hate high flow too. Lost some that way. But I asked POTO and these were under high flow and light. So no idea who’s right lol

They told me the same thing. Also that they are under Radions running an AB+ schedule but never got any PAR numbers from them.

Have you compared the polyplabs booster to the red sea AB+ coral nutrition? Any opinion?
