When my power goes out, my overflow siphon stops. When the power comes back on the sump pump starts but the siphon does not so if I'm not home, my display tank would overflow with my sump water and damage my house. How can I prevent this? Please help!

HOB overflows like Eshopps and Lifereef are very reliable and restart every time when set up properly.

I used a CPR hang on back overflow for like a year and it had an airline fitting on the siphon tube. . You just attached an aqua-lifter pump to that so when the power came back on it pumped out the air and restarted the overflow. You just had to make sure the airline fitting was clear of gunk and that the aqua-lifter didn't fail. Still though there's nothing like a real drilled overflow. You could prob find something on YouTube result that would show you how to set it up.
