For giggles I decided to see what my tank looked like with a FLIR camera (forward looking infrared). Here are the pics
Here’s an FTS, the glass was showing 76.5 degrees which is a 1.5 degree drop From tank temp. Would not have thought glass was that good of an insulator.

pretty uniform, you can see where I keep my topoff tank, bottom left cabinet.

Here is the sump:

and lights: this is one of the g3 xr15s. On the sides are current marine orbit strips

I thought the fixture would be a bit warmer, cool that it was cool :)

and one of the display looking at the water:

All the flow keeps stuff super uniform, I was hoping to see if any equipment was adding heat, but dc stuff stays pretty cool and there is a lot of circulation. Here is the return pump:

Anywho, pictures of my little girl jumping on the bed were much more fun :) you can see everywhere she stepped:

I can't see into the tank at all but I've only tried looking at acrylic tanks so maybe that's why.

Maybe so. Acrylic is a much better thermal conductor than glass, but i would have thought the glass would have reflected much more. Using the fluke ir themometer glass usually reflects on me and throws stuff off a bit.
