Hello,

I’m curious what different reefers experience is with the Princess Peach Acropora. This one was a Tidal Garden purchase.

Over the past 3.5 weeks it’s begun to encrust and tips have lengthened. The color has become more mute.

It will likely continue to color down for a good 2-3 months or longer before getting good color again. When I make a new frags they looks great at the time of the cut and then over a month or two it typically loses intensity. A mother colony is getting nutrition from all the individual animals (polyps) photosynthesizing. A small frag, cut off the mother no longer has that support of the colony. Once it is done encrusting and starts sending new branches is when you will see color intensity increase. Not all acros are like this but the vast majority are. There are other factors that come into play such as lighting and nutrients but this is a major contributor to what you are seeing.
