It is time to start thinking about how I am going to set up my zoo and paly propagation system. What is low light for propagation of zoos and Palys? My hubby is making me 2 tanks. 1 low light and 1 normal. Each will be 24" width X 48" length X 12" tall. I am going to have these plumbed into a common sump refuge.

What I am basically looking for if you could set up the system anyway you wanted it, how would you do it?

Why are you making two tanks. Why not just have one, and have one side shaded and one with direct light? I would go with 4 - 48" T5's.

Dumb question. What do you mean by shaded? Put the lights off to one side instead of in the middle? I have had only my display. I have not tried to frag anything yet. Thanks for your help.

For shading you could do something simple like putting some light deffuser over the top of the tank to block out some of the light.

egg crate and light deffuser are the same thing. Thats what I use when I'm trying to shade parts of my tank.
