Hello all,
I recently painted the background of my aquarium after doing a crappy job on the 1st paint job about a year ago. The new background came out great with no issues aesthetically. I have run into one small issue though, I always clean my back wall with my magnet every 2-3 days and for some reason the magnet now sometimes knocks off small spots of paint when I am wiping the tank. I maybe thought is was because I followed the advice of the home depot employee and only used 2 coats, so I added 2-3 new coats to hopefully stop the issue. It's odd because I never had this issue with my previous paint job, the paint never came off from using a magnet on the back wall. I used an acrylic paint with a mat finish and waited 2-3 hours between applying coats.
I was hoping there was maybe some type of coating I could put on top of the painted background to preserve it from the magnet wiping. I would appreciate some advice, thank you!
